Previously, in WhatsApp, it was only possible to set a location to define a meeting point. Alternatively, there was also the live location. But this has not really found much use. From now on you can also share a route. So your friends know when you're arriving, where you are and if you're stuck in traffic.
To do this, simply start navigation in your Maps app and then press the small arrow at the bottom of the screen. A menu will open where you can choose to share your location. Then you tap on the WhatsApp icon and select the contact. This then receives a link to the route.
More functions
Continuous voice messages are now played back one after the other. You no longer have to tap them all individually. The further processing of messages that have already been sent is also simplified. With a long press, you can now forward the message, reply directly to it, delete, copy or highlight it.
WhatsApp is also getting a new holiday mode. This mutes the app when you don't want to be disturbed. Every device actually has a silent mode installed by default in the settings, but if you just want to mute WhatsApp, it's not a bad idea.
